Plants by Zone

In 2012, the U.S. Department of Agriculture published its Plant Hardiness Zone Map, which divides the United States into a variety of zones based on the average annual minimum winter temperature.  Using these zones, you can determine which plants are most likely to thrive in your particular location.  Keep in mind that when a plant is hardy to a particular zone, it will also usually perform well in zones a few numbers higher.  (For instance, a plant in zone 7 would also likely perform well in zones 8-10.)
